Abarai Renji

About:
He is the vice captain of the 6th Division, who started out as a mere orphan. He first appears when he is sent with Byakuya to retrieve Rukia for her punishment. He fights Ichigo about two or three times before he finally admits that he wants Ichigo to save Rukia from dying. His zanpakutou is like a snake; it can extend to a great length and has a hook at the end, it can cut through almost anything.

Appearance:
Renji has long red hair, which he ties up real high on his head. His face is also very masculine looking with a strange tattoo on his forehead. It's all over his forehead and reaches down to his bicep. However, he chooses to cover the tattoo with some headband or sunglasses.

Style:
When he was an orphan, he wore peasant clothing. By the time he was in shinigami academy, he was wearing a white top with red bottoms. As a shinigami he wore the standard black shinigami outfit, but he had a little badge around his arm showing that he was the co-captain of the sixth division.

After saving Rukia, Renji appears in the human world for the second time, but in retro clothing! He comes to the human world dressed in a yellow shirt with red, blue and green stripes, a white vest and old jeans. He even has a necklace to match. On top of that, his tattoo is now covered by a black bandana.

Power:
With his soul pressure, shinigami spells, and characteristics, Renji is a strong shinigami with his very own zanpakutou. The name of his sword is Zabimaru, in its visible form it seems to be an ape with a snake tail. Renji is able to use shikai which changes his sword into a sword and whip mix. In this form it can lash out, retract, shield and go around any opponent.

However, he can only make a total of three continuous movements before retracting his sword for recovery. His bankai is even better because his zanpakutou changes into a giant snake-like creature with a red mane, white skull-like mask and the body of his shikai but larger. If it were to be smashed in to pieces, it would automatically repair itself. However, this form takes up a lot of energy from Renji.

History:
A long time ago, he met Rukia when they were escaping from a man they stole from. They were like little thieves without parents. Rukia joined them soon after and was like a part of their family. He learned that he should be happy with what he had, and he should always smile because being sadness is no good. He had some soul power/pressure, although Rukia was more advanced than him (and they hadn't even gone to training yet). They made a promise to each other and their friends that they were not going to become Soul Reapers but when their friends died, they chose to become soul reapers.

They both attended the Shinigami School where they learned lots of skills to be soul reapers. Unfortunately for them, they were never understood by their classmates because they weren't as rich as the others. Soon Rukia advanced way more, and was asked to be part of the Kuchiki family. Despite this bad news they still remained good friends. Soon Renji made more friends like Kira and Hinamori where they trained together, and had combat practices. He graduated and became the vice-captain of the 6th division soon after.
