Byakuya Kuchiki

About:
Byakuya is a very strong and well respected shinigami in the Soul Society. He is the current head of one royal family, which Rukia is also in. His first appearance was when he and Renji were sent to the mortal world to pick up Rukia for her punishment. When Ichigo decides to save her, Byakuya does not allow it and uses his sword to attack Ichigo. His attacks are very strong, but Ichigo overcomes them.

Appearance:
Byakuya is a very fit man with light skin. He's handsome indeed, and very tall as well. His hair is long and black, and it's kept together with some clips of sorts.

Style:
Byakuya's captain outfit is the usual with the team number at the back of his white jacket. On missions, his outfit is just the normal black outfit. The sleeves of both his outfits are short as well. However no matter what outfit he wears, he always has that long scarf wrapped loosely around his neck and covering his shoulders.

Power:
He possesses great power and skill. He's very fast (thanks to the skill, Flash Step), and his zanpakutou is equally (if not more) dangerous! The name of his zanpakutou is Senbonzakura, which literally translates to "Thousand Cherry Blossoms". In the shikai of Senbonzakura, it breaks apart into smaller blades by the command, "Chire". The smaller blades then inflect harm upon the selected opponent, and at the end they are injured badly or dead. Senbonzakura's bankai release is different, but similar. Byakuya starts the attack by dropping his zanpakutou which sinks below the earth, and in exchange 2 rows of giant blades are raised. Each blade scatters apart again, but into streams of blades.

Senbonzakura's shikai also takes a second form where the small blades form a sword each. It glows a shade of pink and makes for rows surrounding Byakuya and his opponent. With all these swords, he can either choose one by one or call them all at once to send a powerful blow to his opponent. At last, the final form of Senbonzakura, it combines all the swords into one blade which increases its power. This form is known as Hakuteiken. He gains what looks like white wings and the sword emits a white aura.

History:
Byakuya used to have a wife by the name of Hisana Kuchiki. Unfortunately his wife died of an illness, and her dying wish was for him to protect her sister if she was ever found. Years later, Rukia shows up at the academy and he adopts her into the family to protect her as Hisana's wish. The elders of the Soul Society didn't approve of it because he was following feelings instead of orders, and made a choice to never do such a thing again.
