Unfortunately because of Ichigo's strong waves she was confused and could not tell where the hollow was. She ended up explaining lots of things to Ichigo and eventually the hollow did show up. When Ichigo tried to face the hollow head on, Rukia stopped the hollow from eating Ichigo by blocking it. She gave her powers to Ichigo so that he can save his family, and inhabits a gigai for some time. Appearance: Rukia has short black hair and there's always a serious expression on her face, unless she's acting. She's a short girl, because all the men seem to tower over her by at least half her own height. Style: She first appears in her shinigami outfit, but later she's seen wearing the school uniform as well as sundresses when they go out. And during the nights, she would be wearing pyjamas that she took from Yuzu. Power: Rukia is skilled in kido, as well as the use of her zanpakutou. Sode no Shirayuki, her zanpakutou, is a completely white sword even on the hilt, and it is an ice element sword. Much like several zanpakutou, hers has more than one technique. In its shikai, it changes from sword into a ribbon long enough to encircle an enemy and freeze the opponent that's within the circle she's created. Her other technique creates layers of ice used in a range attack. History: An orphan like many other children, she met Renji at a young age. They grew up together and attended the Academy. Soon she was adopted into the Kuchiki family because of Hisana's dying wish (which she had no clue of) and was asked to be part of the Gotei 13 right after graduation. Slowly her bond with Renji was fading because she was part of a royal family. After graduation, she was put into the 13th Division and worked under Shiba Kaien (who was taking over the role of captain for Ukitake). One misfortunate night, Kaien was taken over by a strange hollow, and in order to kill the hollow, she had to kill Kaien. She blames herself for his death and knows that his siblings hate her a lot.
